Which chapters of the manga does this season cover?
After the conclusion of the second season of the Dr. Stone anime (which left us with a cool Dragon Ball cameo), fans are gearing up for season three, which will focus on the "Origin of Petrification" saga. This season will be divided into two manga arcs by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi: "Age of Discovery of the Stone World" and "Treasure Island", both adapted from the manga.
Here are the chapters that cover each story:
- In this story, the great genius Senku and his friends set out on a mission to explore the post-apocalyptic world, trying to find the origin of petrification and how it affected the world.
- On the other hand, the "Treasure Island" arc begins in chapter 101 of the manga and runs through chapter 138. In this story, Dr. Stone's characters venture on a dangerous expedition to an island in search of a legendary treasure, while fighting against very dangerous enemies.

What you should know before watching season three
Apart from re-watching the previous seasons to refresh and catch up with the plot and characters, you need to watch the OVA about Ryusui. This is a special episode released on July 10, 2022.
Although it is an OVA, it is very important to watch it because it is considered canon. In fact, it is a sequel to the second season and is a special that lasts one hour.
It tells the story of the young Ryusui Nanami, a key character in order to build and sail the boat that they make to travel distant lands. For this task, they need to find oil, create many, many meters of cloth and even create the first coins, which are able to swindle the first people after 3700 years.
Undoubtedly, very curious and interesting data that you cannot miss.
Where can Dr. Stone be seen?
The first and second seasons, as well as the OVA, can be viewed within Crunchyroll's platforms, FunimationAmazon Prime Video and Anime-Planet.
So, in theory, it will be possible to watch the third installment through these same streaming channels legally.
What experiments are expected for this part of the saga?
What we like most about these fantastic adventures are the experiments that are carried out to investigate technology and science, after the petrification of the rest of humanity in recent years. Therefore, we tell you about the possible experiments that could be in this stage of the story:
- Manufacture of gasoline: The team of protagonists work on a grand plan for the production of gasoline using crude materials such as oil and coal, which will have a huge effect on humanity.
- Metallurgy research: they will explore the mining and production of metals, such as iron and copper, and develop super novel metal forging and smelting techniques.
- Glass production: they will work on the production of glass, including heat-resistant glass, for uses in the chemical industry and to create new items.
- Making medicines: they will now be in charge of finding and testing plants and herbs that they had not used before to produce medicines and a big change in treatments for various diseases.
These experiments will help them obtain technologies and tools important for the survival and rebuilding of civilization. This allows them to advance their exploration of the new continent and reveal the story behind the petrification event.
