Naruto is an animated series based on the manga of the same name, written by Masashi Kishimotowho rose to fame with this masterpiece. Hailed as one of the 100 best anime series according to TV Asahi polls. The manga has sold more than 250 million copies, becoming a worldwide success and a classic of Japanese animation on a par with other titles such as Dragon Ball. 

Naruto Uzumaki Synopsis 

Naruto Uzumaki is an orphan from the Leaf Village (Konoha), one of the 5 most powerful ninja villages in the world. He dreams of becoming Hokage to earn the respect and recognition of everyone. He is a very naughty boy and often gets into trouble, for which he is regularly punished. 

He attends the academy where he aspires to become a great Shinobi (Ninja), but his skills leave much to be desired. Naruto lost his parents after the attack of the Nine-tailed fox (Kyubi). A colossal-sized beast that was about to devastate everything, taking the lives of dozens of ninjas in its path. 

The evil spirit was defeated and sealed within the NarutoFor this reason, the adults in the village despise him, although the younger ones are unaware of this event. About the author

Masashi Kishimoto, author of the series, has always loved animation, considering himself Dragon Ball's number 1 fan. In 1996 he wrote a one-shot (comic) for Akamaru Jump magazine. This would mark a base for the creation of Naruto.

After three years he would see his work take off by publishing his manga with the weekly magazine: Shonen Jump. From that moment the series gained great popularity, reaching the screens through TV Tokyo in 2002. The series would become a franchise and two sequels would be developed, Naruto: Shippuden and Boruto: The next generation. 

Main characters 

Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto is a troubled and very hyperactive boy, but with a big heart and many dreams such as becoming a hokage. He is often scolded by Hiruka sensei, who is the closest thing he has to a father.

The inhabitants of the village see it as a danger, since inside it lives the 9-tailed fox, a creature that devastated Konoha in the past and killed the fourth hokage. 

He is in love with Sakura, although she does not reciprocate his feelings. While Hinata feels a great attraction towards him. He has a great rivalry against Sasuke, although he is also his best friend. 

Sasuke Uchiha

A mysterious boy who carries a great burden on his shoulders, he is the last of his lineage, which was exterminated by his brother Itachi, who is now a member of a military organization called Akatsuki. His goal is to become stronger to take revenge on his brother. 

Sasuke belongs to the Uchiha clan, powerful shinobi with the ability of the Sharingan, an ocular technique that allows them to copy techniques and create powerful genjutsus. A famous member of this clan is the legendary Madara. 

Sakura Haruno

Sakura is a kunoichi (female Ninja) very applied in her studies, although she does not shine much in combat, her intelligence has helped her classmates more than once. She is madly in love with Sasuke, although he does not usually take her into account. 

Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi sensei, a very skilled ninja, is known as the ninja who copies, thanks to the Sharingan eye he possesses, which was donated by his former partner Obito. The eye allows him to imitate the jutsus of his enemies. 

Before agreeing to lead Team 7, he put them through a test, which no squadron had ever been able to pass. 

How many seasons does Naruto have?

The series has a total of 9 seasons, divided into 220 chapters, each season is composed of several story arcs, both manga and original (filler). 

Number of episodes per season:

Season 1:

The first season brings us Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and Kakashi sensei, on their first mission in the land of waves, but soon the mission is complicated when they face one of the 7 swordsmen of the mist, the fearsome Zabuza. 

After returning home, they stumble upon the news that the Chunin exams are about to begin, this would allow them to advance in rank. 

Season 2:

The second stage of the Chunin exams has begun, Naruto with his team must survive in the jungle and get the scrolls in order to pass. But they encountered very powerful enemies, including Orochimaru who wants to kidnap Sasuke. 

Naruto and Sasuke make it to the third stage of the exam and are given a month to train. Kakashi will train Sasuke, while Naruto will be trained by Ebisu, but at the last minute a mysterious shinobi will arrive to take his place. 

Season 3:

The mystery man turned out to be Jiraiya, one of the three Sanin. He will be in charge of taking Naruto's training so that he can be in top condition for the final phase of the exams. The tournaments go on without a hitch until the sand and sound ninja villages begin their attack on konoha. 

The war has begun and the Hokage confronts the Kazekage who turns out to be Orochimaru, his former disciple and one of the three Sanin. Gaara confronts Naruto and his friends, as he slowly transforms into the 1-tailed beast, Chukaku (One of the bijus). He has several flashbacks of his past with someone important in his life before being the monster he is considered today. 

Season 4:

Naruto defeats Gaara, the sand and sound withdraw their forces after his defeat. The war was over, but it claimed several lives, including that of Sarutobi, Konohamaru's grandfather and Konoha's leader.

Itachi the renegade ninja, makes his appearance to capture Naruto, but thanks to the intervention of the old Sanin, he protected his apprentice and prevented Akatsuki from getting away with it. 

The old pervert together with Naruto must find Tsunade, the Sanin, to become the new leader, but it will be difficult to convince her. 

Season 5:

The rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke begins to break their friendship. To the point where the two collide in a battle. Sasuke, feeling inferior, decides to defect and join the enemy forces, but there is a chance to save him, so Tsunade sends Shikamaru along with several genin to bring Sasuke back.

Season 6:

Mizuki from prison organizes a revolt to escape, with the help of two very powerful shinobi. The Ino-Shika-Sho group will go into action to stop the prisoners. 

Season 7:

Naruto is assigned to fulfill a series of missions, where he will have to join different teams, facing several challenges where he will not only have to use his strength to win, but also his heart. 

Season 8:

Naruto must find a cure for Akamaru, as he is out of control and could be sacrificed, but with the help of Kiba's sister, they will look for a solution. A new danger threatens Konoha, a ninja has left several explosives distributed throughout the town, they have little time to find and defuse them. 

Season 9: 

The arena is in danger and his allies from the hidden village of the leaf come to his call, facing a powerful enemy who threatens to use a powerful weapon and sow chaos in his path. 

In the last chapter of the series, Naruto decides to leave with his master and embark on a journey that will take him two years, where he will train to become stronger and be able to recover his friend. 

Naruto fun facts 

The author of the series got married in 2003, but Kishimoto decided to wait until 2014 when the series ended so he could go on a honeymoon with his wife, due to the hard work involved in writing and drawing the series. 

Sasuke's character and his story is inspired by a 1961 manga, Sanpei Shirato, about an orphan who becomes a powerful warrior after the loss of his family and village when a rival village exterminated them. 

The costumes of the characters are inspired by the movie; The Matrix, Kishimoto is a big fan of these movies. 

The voice actors of Sakura and Sasuke, knew that the two characters would end up together. Kishimoto let them know this plot twist early on so they could develop some chemistry when acting. 

To save time for the cartoonists, the author decided to use the front strips, thus speeding up the work instead of having to draw other elements such as Naruto's goggles, 

The manga was going to have a culinary plot, for that reason the main character is named Naruto, one of the ingredients of ramen. For this reason, the Ichiraku store has so much prominence in the series.
