Another Japanese comic book arrives in April called Insomniacs after school in the spring season of 2023. Makoto Ojiro was in charge of writing this manga anime and there is already a second promotional video of the project.

This anime is about a student named Maruta Nakama, who suffers from sleepless nights, insomnia. She goes to high school and soon begins a unique relationship with another person who also suffers from the same sleeplessness, Isaki Magari.

The latter lies in what resembles a warehouse, but is actually a conservatory. The two become friends and share their secrets, undoubtedly an anime framed in what friendship means.

Origins of manga

"Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia" is the name of the original manga and was published in the weekly manga magazine Seinen: Weekly Big Comic Spirits, in May 2019. Framed in the Slice of life genre, the Seinen manga magazine published on September 12, 2019 its first volume.

It is worth mentioning that the other volumes (7 tankōbon) were published on October 29, 2021. The following year it was molded and in January 2022 it was announced as a series adaptation.

The same guy who was in charge of launching Insomniacs After School months ago, Houkago Insomnia is back to give us more stories. It will be in a few days when the anime will hit the screens in Japan.

It was in May 2019 when Ojiro published the animated story to Big Comic Spirits, a magazine, belonging to the Shogakukan publishing house. It is worth mentioning, that Makoto Ojiro has previously made other manga such as Katekin, Neko no Otera no Chion-san and Fujiyama-san wa Shishunki, among others.

Plot and synopsis of the manga Insomniacs After School

The two main characters, Maruta Nakama and Isaki Magari, will make their lives a story of friends. An animated adaptation that is sure to turn its fans upside down, and many of whom will be able to identify with it. It is no secret that one of the sorrows he faces is suffering from insomnia, and here he will reflect on what it is like to live with this sleep disorder.

Synopsis

The story begins with the death of one of the members of the Astronomy Club, which revives rumors about the club's supposedly haunting ghost. The comic continues as Ganta Nakami, who suffers from insomnia and a bad mood, meets Isaki Magari, a rebellious but easy-going girl, in the Club's abandoned observatory. Although Magari tries to flee, a broken door forces them inside and they subsequently forge an unlikely friendship, using the observatory as a safe place to bond and seal their friendship. During Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia, Nakami and Magari's story is followed as they struggle to overcome insomnia and its effects on their high school student lives in this star space.

Release date and where to see it

The story of the anime "Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia" will be broadcast on TV Tokyo. The American entertainment company, Sentai Studio, got the license to broadcast it outside Japan. It will be broadcast on the Hidive platform in the US.
