We will start by reviewing what it is all about High School DxD, although of course, there will be no major spoilers that may affect your experience in case you haven't seen this anime, so without further ado, let's get started.

This story takes us back to the academy Kuo, where most of the events of this work will take place. As expected, our protagonist is a student who attends this school and is named Issei Hyoudou, who is a pretty average guy, although extremely perverted in every way, and because of this, he gets into a big trouble that will cost him his life.

Issei is invited by a very beautiful girl, Yuma Amano, who tells him to go on a date and as expected, our lascivious protagonist accepted without thinking twice, after all, it is a date with a beautiful girl, what could go wrong?

Hyoudou is summoned to meet in a lonely place after dark, and unfortunately, this was his first mistake, for when he meets his YumaThe girl was revealed to be not what she appeared to be and instead, the delicate student was really a fallen angel who decides to end the life of our protagonist. Unfortunately, there was no one around to stop her and she ends up ending her life. Issei.

However, this is not goodbye to this lascivious protagonist, as he is revived by another beautiful red-haired girl named Rias Gremory, But bringing him to life would not be free and from now on, he would become a member of his clan as a low-class demon, because Rias is actually a demon not only of great power, but also the future heiress of the Gremory clan.

Issei from the same day he works as a servant for his new master, doing everything in his power to protect her, but as expected, he is not up to the task because of his low power, so he decides to train hard to meet the expectations, since the Gremory are not the only clan and he will have to face many powerful enemies.

How many seasons and episodes does High School DxD have?

High School DxD became a great success since the launch of its first season, which was released in 2012, thus ensuring the continuity of the series, so that only a year later, in 2013, the second season was released and again, captivated fans, getting a pass secured for its third season, which would be released in 2015, repeating the story again and therefore, getting so far, its fourth season in 2018.

Up to now, this anime has only 4 seasons, being the first and third, of 12 episodes each, while the second and the fourth, reached the 13 episodes, for a total of 50 episodes.

Will there be a fifth season?

So far, the story is not yet finished, so a fifth season may continue to explore the plot, but unfortunately, the contingency that generated the pandemic, delayed the plans for the next season and since then, fans are waiting for new news that can provide some confirmation.

Many estimated that by 2022 there would be some confirmation, but this was not the case and now, it is expected that in 2023 there will be an official announcement about the future of this anime.

The anime of DxD, as you may have already guessed, is based on the saga of light novels that were written and illustrated by Ichiei Ishibumi and Miyama-Zero, which began to be published as of September 20, 2008, ending with 25 publications in March 2018.

As expected, the success of the light novel not only gave way to an anime, but also gave rise to a manga, which is illustrated by Hiroji Mishima, being serialized in the magazine Monthly Dragon Ace and has 9 volumes.
