What is Vinland Saga Season 2 about?

Vinland Saga immerses us in a story of the Vikings during their greatest conquest, where the Scandinavians became the terror of the Saxons, who are also known as the English.

In this second season we will once again follow Thorfinn, the son of Thors, who after the events of the end of the first season, completely lost his motivation and as a consequence, his will to live, or at least that is what his character reflects.

Thorfinn has moved away from the wars and with it, he has left behind his position as a warrior, only to now become a slave and therefore, is subject to all that this entails, being at the mercy of a master and fulfilling all his tasks.

It is at this moment when the second character of this season appears and it is Einar, a young Englishman who knows nothing about battles, but unfortunately, his homeland was razed to the ground by the Danes, being condemned to slavery.

After being chained and subdued, he is sent to his new "home" and ends up being bought as a slave by Ketil, the owner of a wheat farm, who tells him that his new activity is to deforest a forest and transform it into a crop field.

But that's not all, and the reward for achieving such a feat is freedom, something that Einar cannot ignore and although it is a titanic task in every sense, he will have the help of another slave and it is none other than Thorfinn, who also resides in Ketil's farm.

However, our protagonists not only have to deal with the work of planting and cultivation, but also with those who despise and dehumanize them because they are slaves, which will generate a great tension that sooner or later will explode.

This is how this second season begins, which is far removed from the rhythm that initially accompanied the first, but far from being a problem, it is an improvement at the plot level that will allow us to enjoy this tragic story in greater depth.

How many episodes will Vinland Saga Season 2 have?

This second season of Vinland Saga, will have the same amount of its first part, which translates into a total of 24 episodes with an approximate duration of 20 minutes. These episodes will be aired on a weekly basis, beginning their broadcast last year. January 10 of this year.

The animation is no longer in charge of Wit Studio, responsible for the first installment and now it is in the hands of a studio that has been giving a lot to talk about and we are referring to MAPPA.
