From light novel to anime

Berserk of Gluttony is based on a light novel entitled Bōshoku no Berserk: Ore Dake Level to Iu Gainen wo Toppa Suru, which is written by Ichika Isshiki with illustrations by Fame. It is worth mentioning that it began publication in January 2017 on a website for light novels, but in March 2022 arrived at the publishing house Kakuyomu.

It should also be noted that thanks to the success of the light novel, it has been adapted to manga by the mangaka Daisuke Takino and this is published from March 2018 in the magazine Comic Ride of the publisher Micro Magazine.

What is Berserk of Gluttony about?

Finally, we will review the plot of this new anime, which is based on action and fantasy, adding slight shades of seinen. In this story we will follow Fate, who is the janitor of a castle that has suffered all his life because of an ability he has had since birth.

This ability makes him always hungry and unable to satisfy it with anything, turning his life into something pitiful, but one day he kills an intruder who tries to enter the castle and it is here when he feels that his hunger is not only satiated, but gains more strength.

In the end, he ends up discovering that his ability allows him to feed on the souls of those he kills, so he not only satisfies his hunger, but becomes more powerful in the process.
